Collagen Bliss Balls
Makes 12 small balls
Equipment: Food Processor
Ingredients
- 2/3 Cup ground almonds (almond flour)
- 1/4 Cup desiccated coconut
- 2 Chopped medjool dates
- 1 Tbsp cocoa or raw cacao powder
- 1 Tbsp hemp hearts (or other small seed e.g. sunflower)
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp melted coconut oil, or lite olive oil
- 1 Scoop Puraz Super Berries
- 1 Scoop Puraz Raw Collagen
- 1/3 tsp salt
- Optional: more desiccated coconut for rolling
Method
- Place everything except the rolling coconut in your food processor and process until you have a uniform mix that is a bit crumbly
- Form into balls. While the mix is crumbly, you can squeeze it into balls that will hold together well
- Put some desiccated coconut onto a plate and press the balls into it to coat, if you are doing this step
- The balls are now ready to eat! Alternatively you can put them in the fridge. The collagen will cause them to firm up quite a bit
Notes and Options
Why did we use both Superberries and Raw Collagen? The simple answer here is that the mix was too strong tasting using just Superberries. Using both gives just the right amount of berry flavour while maintaining the collagen at around a gram per bliss ball.
Other toppings: You might like some variety in your collagen bliss balls, especially if you are gifting them. Here are two options:
- Roll in chocolate chips instead of coconut, or a combo of them both
- Melt some dark chocolate and dip the balls to make 'caps. Sprinkle those with a few raspberry jelly crystals. This is a really nice variation.
Enjoy!
